About Tiny Farmers Forest Preschool
At Tiny Farmers Forest Preschool, it's all about Play! Using nature based play in early childhood helps to develop a child's imagination and confidence.
Our play-based program offers developmentally appropriate curriculum for ages 3 through 6 years. It allows a child to grow socially and academically while exploring the world around them. Young children are in motion for a good part of the day, so outdoor play is a very important component of our program. It sparks curiosity and an interest in the natural world. Exploring the many acres in the forest and on the farm, and learning how to care for animals are just a few of the hands-on activities that will nurture their curiosity and motivation to learn.
Who We Are
Toni Morelli-McCauley is the owner and teacher of our preschool. She has a teaching degree from the University of Portland. She has over 15 years of teaching experience, and taught Pre-K through 2nd grade in the public school system. She has also taught preschool at a private school, and out of her home. Her dream of owning a farm preschool started evolving when she and her husband bought a farm.
In her spare time she enjoys being outside, walking, biking, and hiking. She also enjoys fishing, gardening, baking, playing games, spending time with family and friends, and traveling with her husband, Doug.
Frequently asked questions
What kind of animals do you have on the farm?
We have chickens, cows, and our dog Marley on the farm! They’re all used to kids and very friendly.
What should my child wear?
Children should be dressed in comfortable, practical play clothes and dressed for the weather. We are proud of the unique outdoor surroundings on which Tiny Farmers Forest Preschool is located. This is a farm (in the forest!). The children may get dirty. Please plan ahead for your child to be out in all sorts of weather. In the case of severe weather we will stay in our indoor space.
Should my child bring a lunch?
Yes! Parents are asked to send a packed lunch and water bottle with their child daily. It's a good idea for lunches to be labeled with your child’s name.
